Penang’s annual nine-day Taoist Nine Emperor Gods Festival, observed at temples and communities across the state with vegetarian observance, temple rituals and processions. The 2026 festival runs from 10 to 18 October, with the welcoming period beginning on the eve and major celebrations centred around temples including Tow Boo Kong in Butterworth and other Penang temples.
