Platform Purpose
PenangBiz.com is a local business discovery, learning and digital solutions platform focused primarily on businesses, products, services and activities in Penang.
The platform may include business listings, products, events and promotions, educational content, digital tools and other services intended to help users discover local businesses and help businesses establish and grow their online presence.
PenangBiz.com is an independent platform. Unless expressly stated otherwise, businesses appearing on PenangBiz.com are independently owned and operated and are not affiliated with, employed by, or acting on behalf of PenangBiz.com or PenangBiz Online.
Business Listings
Business information displayed on PenangBiz.com may:
- be submitted directly by a business owner or authorised representative;
- be obtained from publicly available sources;
- be compiled or written by PenangBiz.com based on publicly available factual information; or
- be updated through a business claim or correction process.
PenangBiz.com makes reasonable efforts to present useful and accurate information. However, business information can change, and we do not guarantee that every listing is complete, accurate or current.

Unclaimed Listings
PenangBiz.com may create an Unclaimed Listing using business information obtained from publicly available sources.
An Unclaimed Listing has not necessarily been submitted, reviewed, approved or endorsed by the business concerned.
The presence of an Unclaimed Listing does not indicate any affiliation, partnership, sponsorship or commercial relationship between the listed business and PenangBiz.com or PenangBiz Online.
For Unclaimed Listings, PenangBiz.com generally aims to use factual information such as the business name, category, location, publicly available contact details, operating hours, website or social media presence and a factual description of the business.
Business owners or authorised representatives may contact PenangBiz.com to claim their listing, request corrections or request removal of information.
PenangBiz.com reserves the right to update, correct, restrict, suspend or remove an Unclaimed Listing where appropriate.
Claimed Listings
A Claimed Listing indicates that a person representing the business has taken control of or submitted information for the listing through PenangBiz.com’s claim or submission process.
“Claimed” does not mean that PenangBiz.com has independently certified, audited or guaranteed the business, its ownership, registration, licences, financial standing, reliability, products or services.
PenangBiz.com may request information reasonably necessary to determine whether a person requesting control of a listing is associated with or authorised to represent the business.
We may refuse, suspend or reverse a claim where we reasonably believe that the information provided is insufficient, inaccurate, misleading, fraudulent or disputed.
Pro Listings and Paid Services
Businesses may choose to purchase a PenangBiz Pro package or other paid digital services.
A Pro subscription or paid service may provide additional features, visibility or functionality as described in the applicable package at the time of purchase.
Payment for a Pro listing does not constitute certification, verification, recommendation or endorsement by PenangBiz.com.
PenangBiz.com may change, improve or replace features from time to time. Material changes affecting an active paid service will be handled reasonably in accordance with the applicable package terms and Malaysian law.
Any specific pricing, billing period, renewal arrangement, cancellation terms or service scope communicated during purchase or registration will form part of the agreement for that service.
Listing Ranking and Visibility
PenangBiz.com may determine how businesses, products, events and other content are organised, ranked, featured, recommended or displayed.
Factors may include listing type, subscription level, profile completeness, products, activity, relevance, search terms, category, location, recency, rotation or other factors intended to improve the usefulness of the platform.
Paid or Pro listings may receive greater visibility than free listings.
No particular search position, ranking, traffic level, number of enquiries, sales result or business outcome is guaranteed unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
Business Claims, Corrections and Removal Requests
Business owners or authorised representatives may request to:
- claim an Unclaimed Listing;
- correct inaccurate business information;
- update information under their control; or
- request removal of information or a listing.
PenangBiz.com may request reasonable information to verify the request and prevent unauthorised changes, impersonation or fraudulent claims.
Where ownership or authority is disputed, PenangBiz.com may temporarily restrict changes or listing functionality while reviewing the matter.
We reserve the right to determine how a correction or removal request should reasonably be handled, subject to applicable law.
Information Submitted to PenangBiz.com
When you submit business information, products, events, photographs, logos, descriptions or other materials to PenangBiz.com, you confirm that:
- the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
- you have the right or authority to submit it;
- its publication does not knowingly infringe another person’s rights; and
